The motto of the demo this year is:
"Expropriate corporations! Disarm warmongers! Smash capitalism! Join the revolutionary May 1st!"
On the day of struggle for workers, we take to the streets, as our class siblings did 100 years ago.
Last year, the war atmosphere in Germany and EU only intensified: they are spending billions on arms and the war propaganda of the Bundeswehr and are responsible for suffering and murder worldwide.
From Ukraine, Yemen, and Congo to Kurdistan and Palestine – bombs are falling on workers and their children everywhere. Israeli officers speak with shameful callousness about "exterminating animals" while the Israeli army bombs hospitals and shoots at crowds waiting for aid deliveries. Around 40,000 murdered Palestinians also put the German government on trial, which increases arms shipments to Israel and suppresses Palestine solidarity at home with massive repression, restricting basic rights such as freedom of assembly.
Racism in this country has been hitting migrants like a fist in the face every day. These conditions mean a concrete increasing danger of violence for the targets of fascism, for LGBTI+ individuals, but also for all migrant and refugee persons. Organized fascists like those from the "Third Way" are increasing and acting more aggressively. A state whose government implements the demands of fascists almost entirely and whose police and military are infiltrated by Nazis, such a state cannot tolerate organized resistance. In recent months, we have witnessed unprecedented repression against strikes, resistant political movements, and organized revolutionary forces.
Neither the arms race and war nor the growing fascism occur in a vacuum. Both are developments of the capitalist system, whose ruling class seeks solutions to the escalating crisis. In the redistribution of the world, every imperialist must outdo the competition, and war is just a continuation of politics. Despite repression, we call to take to the streets against warmongering and fascism!
